Attitude towards writing

I have a love-hate relationship with writing in general. I honestly dislike putting my personal feelings in words. Personal feelings, as in emotions or my reflections/recaps of daily occurrences. I find it inane and, at least for me, if there is a pressing issue or something that I need to get off my chest, it's better and more productive to talk it out with friends. It's a lot easier to express emotions through visual and verbal means, rather than writing it down for my own keepsake.

Other than penning down personal feelings, I'd actually say that I enjoy writing. I am an active member of quite a few discussion forums and, apart from the trolls (annoying people that try to provoke you or throw the discussion off-track), it is actually quite entertaining to share and argue about different issues (mostly gaming forums). I also occasionally create fictional characters and lore (background stories) for game ideas that I intend to eventually develop further. I find it easy to write freely when I have an idea for something that I can build up, and I guess there is also a sort of satisfaction when I watch the idea develop into a story or a character.

To sum it up, I guess I enjoy writing from a neutral standpoint but not when personal feelings and emotions are the basis of what I am writing.
